Goals & Objectives

 
Our overall goal is to serve as a training resource to the mining industry located in the Western United States. Because the MSHP is primarily funded with grants, our specific objectives may change depending upon the focus of the current grants. Our specific objectives for 2010 to 2013 will be:

To reduce injuries and illnesses in mining operations through a focused and comprehensive training program that:

• Educates mine workers on how to best protect themselves from risks and hazards in the mining environment, and

• Expands the number of qualified mine safety and health trainers in the United States.
